THE CELLAR
Since 1799THE CELLAR
Tűzkő’s present day fermentation cellar was built in 1991. The estate’s white wines are vinified in this facility in temperature controlled stainless steel vats to best preserve floral and fruity aromas.
The barrel cellar, excavated in the loess hillside and lined with brickwork, was originally built at the beginning of the 1700’s. Temperatures naturally remain constant year-round providing the same ideal conditions as 300 years ago.
Red wines mature and age in oak barriques in this historical underground wine cellar to achieve greater intensity in aromas and complexity. Cellaring also takes place within these corridors in an environment ideal for the bottles to evolve and improve before being released for sale.
